October 11 Associates and Sisters meeting
We read and discussed the Sunday readings for the 28th Sunday in Ordinary time. There was Sharing about these readings and about our personal happenings.
We enjoyed a lunch together and celebrated our 30th year together as Associates. We are so happy to have the sisters with us.

We shared what we are thankful for, and spoke about what we believe the Kingdom of God will be like.

Chicopee May 2024 Meeting
Our theme was taken from the Readings on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity:

Second Reading Romans, 8:14-17
Gospel: Matthew 28:16-20
Our discussion centered around the Descent of the Holy Spirit, and how amazed those who were present, must have reacted because of the flames like tongues of above
their heads. And the ability of everyone to understand those speaking, even though it was not in their own language.
I believe we are all still amazed at the wonder of the Blessed Trinity.
We were blessed to be visited by Christine Milner and Stephen St. James today. It was so good to share our meeting with them. Thank you both for visiting with us.
Chicopee Meeting April 4, 2024
Our theme was Divine Mercy.
Music: “Merciful God”

Gospel John 20:19-31
Our discussion revolved around the gospel of John which talked about Thomas’ disbelief that Jesus has risen.
We shared some of own stories of our beliefs that Jesus is active in our lives
.

We enjoyed a lunch and each other’s company.

February 2024 Meeting
The Chicopee associates met last Thursday, Feb. 22nd.
Our music was “WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM .” By Paul Savageau
Our opening prayer was sent to us from Sr. Louise, via Sr. Therese, and was from Sr. Therese of Calcutta.
We shared readings from the 2nd Sunday of Lent...
Genesis 22:1-2, 10-13, 15-18;
Psalm 116:10, 15, 16-17, 18-19
Romans 8:3 16-34
Gospel of Mark 9:2-10
Our Sharing told of how we connected with, visited with or helped our friends or relatives; some of whom are home bound, or in nursing homes, or needed to get to the hospital, unable to get out by themselves.
It seems the older we get, the more our help is needed. God is still calling us to be helpmates. Lent is the perfect season to say YES to our Father.
January 2024 Meeting
The Chicopee Associates met on Thursday, Jan. 11th.
Our Opening Prayer was provided by Sr. Louise from Catholic Household Blessings and Prayers...Welcoming the Stranger: Prayer for Hospitality...
Our Scripture readings were taken from the 2nd Sunday in Ordinary Time
Samuel 3:3b-10,19; Psalm 40 from Sr. Louises My Psalm Book; 1 Corinthians 6:13c-15a,17-20 and John 1:41, 17b
Closing Prayer is taken from the Prayers of Blessing and Praise for all occasions: Prayer at the Start of a New Year.
The Bookmark Question, brought discussion about calling those or visiting in person, people who have not been well or who are in nursing homes to offer support or care.
We also discussed our feelings about the state of our world and it’s troubles. We agreed that meeting today, and sharing our thoughts, is such a wonderful blessing.
We want to thank everyone who put together the Advent booklet. We looked forward to each day's readings.

Discussion question, How can you prepare yourself for the moment when you see Christ in Someone else? The sharing was so meaningful. Included bookmark sharing, sharing the picture of Tsukuba-no-Mai Bridge- Amori, Japan.

October 2023 Meeting

Music : Amazing Grace was planned, but The CD player did not cooperate
Gathering Prayer: provided by Sr. Louise
Theme planned was scripture Readings from the 29th Sunday in Ordinary time. Discussion question: What can we do this week to repay God for what we receive?
Intercessions: for all Sisters and Associates and family members, both living and deceased.
We continued our discussion and visit over our lunch.
We truly enjoyed our day together, even though it was cut short with other plans (It fell on Christine T's birthday).

Theme: Liturgy readings from Sunday, January 29th
Scriptures: Zephaniah 2: 3, 3: 12-13; psalm 146, 1 Corinthians 26-31, Matthew 5: 1-12a
Discussion: How can you grow in Humility? Can you recognize the blessedness of your dependence on God?
Intercessions: We kept sisters and Associates in our prayers.

We discussed scripture reading sheet and the picture of Jesus as a way to reflect on the Chapter Document. We will begin to use these at our next meeting.
I was unable to connect the flash drive that Stephen sent to me to my tablet. The cord that I purchased, was not correct, I'll continue to research one that will work. However, since I had a copy of my reflection, I read that to the group. It blended with our discussion. We will meet next on Friday, Feb. 17th.

Gathering prayer: was from Magnificat’s Blessed. It was a reflection, entitled Asking for a Clean Heart by Mother Mary Francis of Our Lady.
Scripture: First Reading, Acts 7:55 - 60...And Revelation 22:12-14,16-17, 20,Gospel John 17:20-26
Psalm: psalm 97 from Sr. Louise’s My Psalm book
Discussion:we agreed that all 3 Scripture Readings showed how much God Loves us and forgives us.
Intercessions: we prayed for the people of Ukraine, the End to Abortion, for our own families and for our Associates and their families,
Closing Prayer: Prayer to our Guardian Angel

April 29, 2022
Theme: 3rd Sunday of Easter
Environment: Peace plant and lighted candle

Gathering Prayer: taken from Week Of Prayer For World Peace, 1978
Scripture: Readings from 3rd Sunday of Easter, Acts 5 27-32; Psalm 30 from Sr. Louise’s Psalms, Vol. III; Rev. 5:11-14; John 21: 1-19
Discussion: We focused on the Gospel, discussing why at different times, When Jesus appeared to the Disciples, they did not recognize Him? At times, they recognized Him during the breaking of the Bread, or when He spoke, or by His actions. Perhaps these times are recorded to help us recognize Him?
Intercessions: we prayed for all of the Sisters and Associates, and their family members. We read all of the messages forwarded by Janet and others requesting prayers. We prayed for Peace in the world and and end to the War in Ukraine.
Closing Prayer: we used the Bookmark Prayer from the Chapter
Other: I was given prayer cards and calendars that ask for prayers for our Diocesan Priests from our adopt a Priest Ministry. Each of us has a Priest to pray for each day.

Our group was finally able to meet.

and doctors' appointments.

Everyone had wonderful ideas and thoughts regarding the readings.
Intercessions...we remembered all of the Sisters and Associates and their family members in need, as well as the people in Ukraine, for world peace.

Dec. 17, 2021 Chicopee Associates Meeting

Second Reading: Luke 1:39-45
Discussion: This was taken from the Gospel of Luke...” And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?” I was reminded of a time when my former principal, Sue, was relaying a visit to one of our mom’s...She greeted Sue with” How is it that the principal of my children, has come to me?”
Sr. Louise and Sr. Theresa reminded us that each day we relive the gospel. It was interesting.
Closing Prayer prepared by Theresa Cote
Prayer requests were for our Sisters and Associates... those who are ill and those who have lost family members and loved ones.
We followed our meeting with a luncheon and Birthday Cake for Sr. Louise.

Readings ...taken from Sunday Readings, Daniel 7:13-14, Psalm 93, Revelation 1:5-8, John 18:33-37.
Discussion: We agreed, certainly, that Jesus, is not of this world..and shared our thoughts. I asked Does anyone ever wonder how God created the world? I believe He did, as I m sure everyone else does. I can t wait to find out how...we voiced our thoughts and beliefs. Sr. Therese Dube shared a piece from Kilil Gilbrand. It was very interesting.
Intercessions: We remembered our Assumption family and asked for several friends to be remembered as they face operations this week.
Closing Prayer was completed by Theresa Cote, read by Barbara.
Other: we agreed that we would once again send a donation to Heifer International, for a Christmas gift.
Our next meeting is scheduled for December 17, Friday
We enjoyed a relaxing lunch and each other’s company.

Environment...I happened upon a stack of photographs from years of associate gatherings. I was so excited to see them, that I used them, scattered on the meeting table so we could all have good memories of those in the photos.

Gospel: Mark 10:35-45
Discussion Questions: What would you have asked of Jesus? (James and John said, “Teacher, we want you to do whatever we ask of you.”
and How would you have answered Jesus’ question, “Can you drink the cup that I drink or be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?”
Intersessions: we spoke of those prayer requests sent from Janet and others and any of our own personal requests
